No prob, always interested in advise. I look at the access log for similar info, I use the UNIX grep command to scan it. Anyway, yeah, it's a pain a pain to ban IPs and I think this new message board program will go a long ways to prevent the board spamming we've seen lately. thanks for posting, ttyl

But the thing is, if they want to change their ip to "hide", i have the code that shows what their ip will be when they change it. We all just want to get along in life, but some people had rather not, so let them PLAY alone. Take care ed and thanks again for doing this for us crappie fishermen.

    Default Nice Format

I like this new format. I have seen this type of format before on many forums. It may take a while to feel at home though. I was so used to the other format of crappie.com. All in all I think that this type of format will give us a better way to discuss crappie fishing.

Ed. Thanks for providing a place for us to meet and talk fishing.
    Regards,

Talking It is working now. It shows that I am online

Ed, I'm still playing with this new forum and have found that when I put the cursor over the person's check mark byside their name, that it shows if they are online or not. It always shows that I'm off line even though I have logged in. Maybe it still needs a little more adjusting or maybe I still have a lot more to learn on how to use this forum. Thanks and good fishing to all.

It is working now that I have posted. It is showing that I am online. Ed you really fixed that fast. LOL You are really good. Now if I only had a spell checker that would fix all my spelling (Grin) Thanks,

Cool guys, glad you're enjoying the new format. It's much easier to manage also. And, there's a link by the posts so that you can let me know about bad posts.

There's also private messages so that you can send each other messages much like Email. Look up at the top right, by the welcome message.

    Hey Ed,
This format is cool. Registering was easy and now we wont get the lame posts that plagued the other board. Good job. Tight lines to all,
    Mike

I like this format, similar to the commonly used UBBS board software in capabilities and interface. The shades of blue style is very easy on the eyes.

One suggestion is to increase the number of posts per page, to 20 or 25. I have a slow dialup, and it can be hard to follow a running dialogue. On a hot thread, I'd rather have a lot of posts on one page that I can load while fixing a snack, then have to hop back and forth trying to puzzle out who was replying to whom.

I was just about to change the default to show more messages, but I found in the "User CP" you can change the number of posts displayed in the "thread display options" for the individual user. In other words, it configurable in your own user ID under "Edit Options"
