As Slab has said "This is America" and IceManCometh has the right to make a complaint about this site if he feels it is in his best interest and others might feel the same way as he does. He is new to the site and may not realize how accessible Slab is to any of the members here. He is just a PM away from anyone that has a question or a problem. You won't find another Crappie fishing site that is so accessible to it's members as this one is by it's owner. We have come a long way from where it started and it takes a lot of time and money to manage a site of this size. We are over 13,000 members and growing everyday. We always have a few new people that complain about a product or service and come on here and unload about a bad product or poor service. After you have been here and learn that all you have to do is mention your experience good or bad and someone can tell you who to contact whither it be product or service. Most have come back and apolojized for their first post after they have gotten their problem worked out. Their are a lot of pro staffers on here and they have feed back to their sponsors and can get problems solved fairly quickly. They can tell you who to contact and phone numbers if needed.
As you have found out that Slab is very admired here and a lot of people will defend him very ademently. If you PM Slab he can remove the adds for a very small fee if they are that much of a distraction to you. I don't mind them at all tho. EB

I too, have enjoyed this site very much. I am learning alot about crappie fishing and crappie fishermen. They are the cream of the top and as a whole, you won't find a better bunch of people. Trust that Slab keeps this going for my grand kids to enjoy.

Personally I have never met SLAB but if he ever needs anything and I can help get it for him or this site , I will do everything in my power to do it for him. Without this site some days would be extremely boaring.. Thanks again Slab for your work and for Crappie.com!

It's all an evil plot by "Big Crappie" to keep the little man down. I heard Slab's real last name is Gates too.

Ya'll ease up on the IceMan. He's only been around just a little bit. Probably just got a bad first impression from one thing or another. Given time, he'll see what this site really is. And if not...we can always lynch him later.

I like that quote, and that is my full intention.

Thank you all for your support. I really do love the site and all it's members. Greatest group of people on the Internet.

And FYI, I do not turn the ads off for myself. One, I want to see what's going on with them, and two, I actually like them. I like them to see what pops up, it's amusing to watch them try to figure out my interests!

This site is one of the best you can find for many reasons. Ed has the right to advertise his jig scent, and the other Crappie.com things he sells on here. Myself, don't think that him doing that is wrong. Where would one think that some of this site is financed from? He is also entitled to make a living for himself, and if it is from the site, then so be it. Ed had a vision long ago, of what every thing here should be like, and from where this site was in the begining days, to where it is now. The biggest thing is, that it is family oriented, and that we as anglers help young ones when they come on here.
