If I'm wanting scent to my tied jigs I will just tip them with a small minnow. I will add scents to the plastics at times.

I soaked several different colors last night then took them out to dry. I will check them when I get home today to see how different they look after soaking.

I am happy to report that my jigs look the same after drying. I used Yum spray and it has a purple look to it, but it did not turn the jigs color. I didnt soak them long just a minute or two. They sure have a smell about them. I think I will continue to do this as I am a firm believer in nibbles so why not put all the scent I can?

Put Crappie Nibbles in a syringe and apply to chenille body of jig. Works great and covers up the fingernail polish scent. Stays on better than a Nibble on the hook.

I wouldn't do it before hand due to the smell and mess, but it certainly works on the water. Also once you catch your first keeper, you can rub your jig on the slime and that helps as well. The hair and chenille jigs soak it right up so a drop goes a long way.

Here is what I do and you can make 100's for a couple bucks. Cut up some hot dogs in little pieces. then microwave them for about 20 seconds. Get you some of the garlic that is already chopped and in a jar. In a baby food jar or other small container, mix hotdog bits, couple spoonfuls of garlic, sea salt and garlic powder. let it sit mixed for about a week in frig(garage frig if you have one). when ready to go fishing just put little hotdog bit on jig hook. Has worked for me lots of times. also great as bluegill bait. you can even mix a lot up in small jars and freeze, night before you go out just set it out.you can even put a piece inside of a tube. The reason to microwave first is makes them hold on hook better.
