I like them, been using them since I found out about them. seems like the hook set is in the roof of the mouth and not on the side, fish do not come off as easy when hooked in the roof, anyway seems like.
I've recently started using sickle hooks myself and notice that I have to keep the hemostats close by to remove the hook. They tend to hook the roof of the mouth a bit further back than regular hooks, but as far as missed fish I can't say that they up the catch ratio. I still have regular hooks and use them too. Beagles above statement is spot on, and once you try them you'll see it for yourself.
