Wonder why the authorities in other boat let this situation get so close to getting completely out of control? I mean after a heated exchange, this fool boards another vessel with a paddle in his hands to inflict bodily damage- nothing else. This could have ended a lot differently than it did. Were they wanting to watch a beating or killing before they intervene? What about the little boy?

Anyone else get this feeling after reading nanook's post?

It was my perspective that the guy in the other boat alerted the authorities, not that they witnessed the incident.

either he went back to get his badge and pistol OR maybe he went back to, like you said, alert his fellow brothers. Maybe he never saw the guy get on the man's boat?

From the story it's kinda hard to tell when the other fellow slipped off.
