Good write up! I tightline for crappie probably 90% of the time and like to hear what other folks use and have success with in the terms of sensitivity. Sometimes you feel the thump and others the line goes slack, then throw in a 8-10mph wind and it gets really tuff to feel anything.

My .02 I use an old fenwick steelhead rod 81/2 footer. It works great for tightlining, and in the breeze. But when it goes WFO, I prefer my shorter rods, like 51/2 to 6 footers. Alot easier to lip em with it then the long rod. I prefer to let mine go, as I enjoy redear and bluegiil fillets more then crappie. The fenwick is rated 6-17#

    great info.
My question for you is this. What is the rod material used in each of the poles you mentioned? Or more importantly, what is the rod material in the pole you like best.
