I'm like the rest of you, I don't shop for fishing stuff there much either. I like to hear they're expanding it back though. It will be nice for them to actually have stuff again for when I don't have time to wait on shipping.

They are bringing guns back to the sporting department also, and will start selling them again. EB

Our WM fishing section is pitiful but the only problem is that it is the only game in town. As someone else said thank goodness for the internet.

Good to hear they are expanding, the one here is decent, but other surrounding stores have more selection, so when i'm out, i'll stop by the other stores to try and find what I'm looking for.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

That's not the only thing that would make Mr Sam turn in his grave, but as a store handy-man I can't talk about that.

My issues with Wally World starts outside the store...why do they bother putting those white arrows in the paking lots when most of the people drive the wrong way anyway...idiots.

My wal-mart here was one of the ones affected when they revamped their stores and we lost a lot of our cheaper fishing items and I too stopped shopping there and went to Academy across town. However that's not to say Wal-mart doesn't have good deals from time to time. This summer I happened to notice they had a rod and reel combo on sale for only 12 bucks and it was one of those ultracast types for panfish. I caught probably 300 bluegill, chinqs, and bream on that rod and reel this summer so I'd say it was a great purchase.

I often used walmart because it was closer to my house and it was great for small things like sinkers, corks, hooks, etc. Larger items I tend to buy at academy and sometimes academy is cheaper and sometimes not but academy has a bigger selection which is what draws me there.

I'll go back when they start carrying the Shakespeare Micro Graphite rods again, best inexpensive rods I've ever used! My closest WM quit carrying them over a year ago, some others still have them?

I work at a Wal*Mart in another town from the one I live and shop in...I questioned the Valparaiso store as to why they no longer carried the maribou jigs (crappie size) that I had been buying for years for a reasonable price and they told me they had been discontinued...I told a manager for the store that a lot of guys were buying them regularly, and that I had been recommending that they go to that store to get them...they now carry the maribou jigs in question.

Sometimes you just have to let the right person know that the item they removed needs to be place back in stock again.

Give it a try at your store, what've you got to lose? But a word of advice, don't air your concern to an Associate, make sure you're talking to a store Manager, or Department Manager.
