I fished a tourney once a long time ago, and a guy brought a fish to weigh that had rigormortis already set in on it. Everybody there knew something wasn't right about that fish but nobody said anything. I think that was the last tourney I fished for bass. Sure hope we never have to deal with anything like that in my crappie club. Right now there never seems to be any indication of it with us having different winners quite alot.

My way of thinking, in most cases, is that if one is a consistant winner he or she is one to learn from. If someone is a cheater then it will show in their ability if he or she is a winner that will also show in their ability.

I too agree 100 percent. My only point was we have a great bunch of guys in our club and cheating dont seem to be part of it. Scratch the last 5 words from my last post and what I meant will be more clearly understood. Thanks for pointing it out. I sure didnt mean what I said any other way.Id win every tourney I fish in if I could.

I hope that his sponsors demand a refund or make him pay for what they have given him in the past. That is the least that they could do for putting a bad name on them by association.

Fishing is my therapy, its what I love to do, and helps me unwind and relax, catching fish or not. I have nothing against tournament fisherman, or the idea of it for that matter. But when it gets that serious, or cheaters stealing from honest people, that takes everything away from fishing, that makes it the sport we all love. Give me my alum. 1648 a bucket of minnows and some adult beverages and I'm content with life.

Strangely, I am not surprised one bit. You can bet this is just one of the tricks up his sleeve. I'd bet also hes been cheatin for quite awhile.

i found this as ironic! a day after hearing about the cheater, i turned my desk calender to read this" The lure of millions in tournament winnings has led to many well documented instances of creative cheating, especially in pro bass contests. One VAangler wins the award for oddest cheat. He climbed aboard a two-man boat wearing a full length rain slicker. Hidde under the slicker were stringers of bass the angler hoped to dump into his livewell when the other boater wasn't looking". Dumb as they come those trashmouth fishermen!LOL
