I know absolutely nothing about Barred Perch, but I'm sure that your's is a fine specimen!
It is hard to tell the size of the fish without anything in the pic for "scale", not trying to take anything away from your fine catch... just saying.
Went camping to Ventura beach California to try out my jigs for the first time.(too hot to test on crappie) Had a carolina rig with two lines, one with my jig and the other with a gulp camo sandworm.Caught him on the sand worm but I feel the jig may have helped some how. It was only after I tied the extra line on with the jig that I started catching fish.
Anyway while walking back to camp, a local guy that says he has fished in Ventura all his life and has never seen a Barred Perch that big. He told me I should have it weighed at a scale. He thought it was at least 4 pounds and possibly a record. Unfortunatley I was in a 31 foot motorhome and to lazy to unhook everything from the campsite and drive around looking for the scale.
So after cleaning it I googleD Barred Perch to see what the record was and found out it 4.2 pounds. Should of would of COULD OF.
I added a picture of an average size perch.

We aint got any of them over here in Ga. Looks like a cross between a crappie and a bream. I bet they hit hard and put up a good fight.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
That's a nice one. Congrats!

Don't think I've ever seen one of those, but that's a monster. Congrats
Thats a beautiful fish
That's a good lookin' fish for sure!.. you on the other hand could use a makeover!:D
You should invest in a set of digital scales for cases like this... I always like to hold the scale up and pull on the tail while someone else takes the pic, makes the fish look like it weighs more!
Figures you should say that GCD,lol.
