I never considered selling it cause it does do the job and one day I may need it again. Go Garmin and you wont be disappointed.

You can even make your own custom maps with free terrain data off government servers, a feature much lacking in my $1720 sonar unit. I've made maps of my farm with 3ft contour intervals. Not that I need it since I've been stomping this ground for 40+ years, but it's still way cool. When I'm navigating to some structure I've marked on the lake I always refer to my Garmin and just leave the HB screen on si.
What are the sites for the free terrain data?

I had a bunch of waypoints on my Garmin GPSMap 76 and I have a Lowrance LMS 520C depth finder on my boat. Garmin and Lowrance use different formats on their GPS, but I found out you could download a free program (Easy GPS) and load the waypoints on there from the handheld and It will convert them to the Lowrance format and you can load it on a SD card. I did that and when I go to my map on the depth finder, there's all my waypoints with their names.

I've been thinking about buying a handheld GPS unit for a long time. From everything I've read it sounds like the Garmin 76 is the way to go.

You need to find a copy of Mapsource fishing Hotspots for your area. Mapsource Hotspots is a discontinued product. What area do you fish?
