I've only done that on Cedar Creek ... and you couldn't get anywhere near standing timber or shoreline moss without being overwhelmed by swarms of bugs. May not be as bad on Taylorsville, Green, or Cumberland ... but, I haven't tried it on those lakes.
I may have to try it.

    Anyone use Thermacells?

I have green LED waterproof lights in the water at night and am adding some to the sides of the boat soon. On the inside I’m adding red LED lights. Bugs can be bad but I try to fish around lighted areas too at night here in central Illinois.

I tried it on Cumberland a couple weeks ago with nothing but a full moon with a green light in front & an older full moon with white back light. There were bugs stuck to the boat on the gunnel at both light location but never had a problem whatsoever with them bothering me or getting on my 93 sv. I was using emerald green color palate & no clue if that's why they never gathered around it but they didn't. Oh & yes i caught them pretty good by just drifting around where there were a lot of under water trees & never anchored. The crappie were in shad & i caught them 1o to 14 feet straight down. I enjoyed it pretty good so i think i'm going to try it again this weekend too .
