Yep team M&M these are some of the reasons I wouldn't feel comfortable dragging body parts in the water.
You ever worry about your feet dangling in the water? I was at Larto lake in the bayou a couple months back and I was catching bluegills and not paying much attention to anything else except the tree I was catching them under. I turned around for just a moment and at the rear of my boat was about a 10 foot alligator. Apparently he was attracted to my orange cork and everytime I threw it out he inched a little bit closer to the tree.
I waved my hand at him and said hello but he didn't move off like I thought he would. He stayed about a foot from the edge of my boat for a few more minutes before I had to reposition the boat and I fired up the trolling motor. Then he just sank down under the water real slow and I didn't see him again for about 5 minutes and I looked around and noticed him about 20 yards away near the bank.
The places I fish I wouldn't be able to function with my feet dangling over the side, lol. All I'd be able to do is hear the sound of Jaws music in my head.

Yep, if there are gators in the area....I'm a no show! Unless you get way east or south of where I live there's none of those boogers. I'm not sure I'd feel safe even in a boat if I saw one of those bad boys.
