Yep. I also clean my poles with soap and water. My boat stays clean too. I guess I am a neat freak and my mama taught me right when I was a youngun.

I used to take aerosol urethane and spray my new cork with it. Still has good grip and cleans up easy, lasted a long time. Just a quick coat, not real heavy.
