I've been using Rope Lights on my boats since 2002. I found 30 ft sections on E-Bay for $10.00. and bought 6 of them. I still have 3 unopened bags. These are great for camping and on the boat. Just enough light to see but not enough to keep you from being comfortable.

Thanks for all of the input. The blue water leds look really good. I was at first only considering the rope but after thinking about it, it looks like my aluminum boat doesn't have that "lip" I need on the inside to keep the light from shining up into my eyes.

Is bluewater led made so that it casts the beam vertically only? I guess if you had to put a degree of coverage between 0 and 90 on it what would it be? I'd like a setup that gives off light at maybe 15 to 25 degrees from the deck surface.

I'd really love to see any pics yall might have as well.

i use the blue water led's in my boat...i mounted them under the lips on the rails so they dont shine up and blind you...i have 10 in the boat under the rails and one in each dry box...i have tryed many waterproof led's but these are the best by far...i have had people tell me how do you fish in that thing with the lights on it looks like a UFO but once they sit in it and see they love it and want to run lights in their boats...
