No skeeters or gnats or sand flies pestering you. Plus your in a climate controlled environs. Get a 13 gallon kitchen trash can with a Hefty trash bag in it and a cutting board over the sink and your set. Be sure the sink drain catcher is in and pull them from the cooler one at a time and throw the entrails away one fish at a time. Hardly any mess is made that way. Be sure and clean up what little mess was made cause when momma ain't happy ain't no body happy.

By the way Slabsrus. Excellent video. Might want to look on Youtube at MuskyMod. Type in Muskymod bluegill filleting technique in the search engine. Little different angle than your method, however both are great. Thanks again for posting this.

I do clean all my fish indoors. I have it pretty much down to a science so the wife really does not mind. Very little mess. Gotta keep "ma" happy.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

Nice video but why not get a cutting board rather than fight newspaper? Preference? I use an electric and would probably struggle without it seeing as I have gotten so used to it. I also get that little section under the ribs that you seem to be missing. Granted, it's not much like you said but me and my wife think it's the best part when fried. You do a real neat job though, my compliments.

nice technique and a nice video. The same basic steps my pop taught me 45 years ago. Works with northern bullhead , also. Great Job!
