After 8 years of marriage, I CHEATED!!!

Now calm down and hear me out first before passing judgement. It all started out yesterday afternoon when I decided to cook some baccon wrapped Crappie for our dinner. I grabbed a bag of fillet's out of the deep freeze and let them thaw. About an hour before we were going to eat I pulled the bag out of the sink and realized that it was not all crappie. I rarely keep anything other than Crappie, but about 2 months ago I was spider rigging and caught a 4 lb. Largemouth. Usually I would have thrown it back, but there was a bass boat (obviously fishing a tournament) that had been crowding me all morning. So I made it a point to chunk it on ice right in front of them(should of seen theor faces). So here I am wondering what to do and not having enough time to thaw another bag, I decided to go with it. Now here is where it get's bad, I put 2 toothpicks in all the bass and only 1 in the crappie. I was sure to fix her plate and at first I was gonna give both of us equal portions. Didn't happen!! I sat accross the table watching her pluck all those toothpicks and about half way through she looked up and said "Did you do something different with the fish?" I said yeah, it's a new seasoning. She said"I love it" and went on about cleaning her plate. Man that was a close call, but I got to admit, I would do the same thing again if placed in the same situation..

I tell my wife that the stripers I catch are catfish and crappie when they come out of the fillet bag.:D

... then when I actually let her eat real crappie she raves about it and tell me it was extra good tonight!:p

I eat large mouth all the time. AND I LIKE THEM. but I never bacon wrapped them. might get the misses to try that next time. good story

Im a bassfisherman gone crappie fishing, To much time and money chasing the tourn trails. But Ill take all bass filets over any fish. My second is winter crappie. Hope ya'll dont pull membership I have sinned

I like bass too, but I bake mine with lots of seasonings.

I'll keep this post and show my wife if and when I ever get caught. But for me, I'll take the Crappie anyday over the Bass.

I needed that laugh, nice one. I give striper to some of my friends that dont want to catch there on fish. They will ask why we can have crappie cause there is more striper then there is crappie. __ did you help grow the wheat pick the wheat or help bake the cake
