Have you tried to use two stand out hooks with a clip on bobber?...How long of string do you use when you make your rig with standout and jig?...

As far as 2 standouts, I havent tried it, but you cant use more than 2 hooks on one pole legally, most places I fish. If you mean 2 standouts by themselves, the only way would be to run the 2 so's and then a weight at the bottom, cause your tagline goes through the bottom of the so. Thats the whole purpose of the design. As far as length, it really depends on the 2 different depths you want to try, or if you find the exact range of the strike zone, so you can effectively have a minnow and a jig in the strike zone without them effecting eachothers performance.

I've used the eagle claw crappie rig with a heavy weight for bottom bouncing and feeling my way around structure. I got hung a lot but I was fishing right out from a steep bank with overhanging trees and there were a ton of fallen limbs on the bottom. One thing I dont like about the rig is that there is not much distance between the weight and the bottom hook. I like to make my own rig with Bear Paw leader connectors, that way I can adjust the spacing of the hooks from each other and from the weight.

This is how I used the eagle claw rig:

I vertical slow troll em every great once in a while, if its the ones with the wire things that hold the lines to the hook away from the main line, I havent had em tangle, and have caught one double on that particular rig, and they didnt tangle it. what little I have used em they worked like they should.
