    That is actually the only problem I am having right now. It is a U shaped piece of aluminum with two 1" (I think it is 1") square tubes welded on top then it has gussets to the front deck. It is all riveted on. The trolling motor is too heavy for it so I need to figure out some way to stiffen it up as the trolling motor wobbles back and forth in rough water. If you look at the second picture you can kind of see the gussets.

    Yeah it was. Every time I do something to it my wife just rolls her eyes.

    Congratulations. You have something few of us have, a darn good boat that you made for yourself, with your ideas and own two hands. That is priceless. Hope you have many years of enjoyment with it.
