I have these mounted up front and driftmaster in back. They are good quality rod holders with easy access to rod.
It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

You may have answered my question.. When I get ready to pull in my trolling motor, the horizontal bar will pivot out of the way? Am I right?
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

The horizontal bar will spin 360 degree on top of the vertical post so you can mount them where this bar will spin out of the way. There is a flat milled on the flat hrizontal bar so that this flat surface touches the flat surface on the vertical post. This gives more support and more friction when tightened to keep the bar from spinning.

We long line out the back of the boat with them. We havn't had a issue with the rods coming out. We adjust the rods so that they have a slight angle to them. It's easier to see the bites that way also. I've worried about the poles breaking when hung up . I haven't worried about them coming out.

I just got a email saying that delivery on my four sets or HiTeks will be Wednesday.....I can't wait to get them and get them on the boat. Looks like I will have some used rod holders to sell or trade pretty soon, Lol. :D

they look great but have you tried them when it is windy? I had some similiar to these and the part on the front is very low profile the wind kept blowing my poles out of the holder and what i had were built higher than those.

As I've said before, I like mine and recommend them. When I find something I don't like about them, I'll be the first to say so, but, don't hold your breath. Every time I use them, I find more to like about them.
