    >>Isn't that what Science Diet, Iams, and Purina are for?<<

I would imagine that they just use them as a nutricious supplement. We feed Purina ProPlan or ONE to our dogs, but they also get healthy snacks like hens eggs and vegetable trimmings. One of the dachshunds expects a piece of "sushi" when I'm cleaning fish. - Roberta

I have a Boxer that begs for the fish skins when I'm filleting fish. She gobbles them up scales and all! My Great Dane has acquired a taste for them too but doesn't relish them as much as the Boxer. Been feeding them fish skins for years and they are both old and healthy. I figure the scales make pretty good "roughage".

Speaking of dogs, we have 2 Australian Shepherds and when I take them fishing, they EXPECT me to catch a fish on every cast or everytime I bring my jig out of the water. They love to lick the fish and if I don't bring in a fish, you should see the sad look on their faces. It's almost heart breaking! However, Tracker boat carpet and long dog hair do not mix well. I would take them with me more but it's a pain to vacuum even after one fishing trip!
When in doubt, set the hook.
