go by fast, slowing down makes for bigger waves to deal with. They will rock the fishing boat harder causing more problems than just going by fast.
i say slow down and respect your fellow fisherman why is everyone in such a big hurry
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad

Fishing is a way of life. Teach your grandchildren to fish, hunt and enjoy the outdoors
Most boats designed for fishing can be operated at a 'no wake' speed. If within 100 feet of an anchored or moored vessel, Arkansas law requires you to slow down and you're responsible for your wash and or wake.
I prefer they slow down.
Quit complaining about the color, just pull up your skirt and fish! -- snagged
One-hundred foot away or more, stay on plane and get on by. Inside one-hundred feet, DEAD slow, no wake. But that's the two biggest problems. Most anglers don't know what one-hundred feet is on the water and they don't know what a no wake is and end up plowing the water.
Do unto others is the golden rule right? Well, my boat can really throw a big, dangerous wake and I go out of my way not to throw it on anyone. If I did, I'd expect to be yelled at or worse. So, if I do the same when they wake me am I not just following the golden rule?
What was the opinion on the bass forum?

I've fished bayous and rivers that were being fished by dozens of boats scattered along the length of it and if you went to a no wake speed for every one, you'd only ride for half the morning. I keep it on pad, maximize distance and minimize wake. I try to be safe and practical about it.
I prefer them get on by because most slow down just enough to throw a big wake because they don't have enough experience of fishing slow. They think they are doing you a favor when slowly going by, waving at you and you are cuzing them under your breathe. I run a fast boat and if I can get by at a safe distance, I will run by on full plane. I get some bad looks but I know I throw less of a wake on full plane than slowing down, plus I get out of thier way quicker.
The safest distance to pass should be greater than the fisherman's longest cast.
I agree with Darryl. I believe 100 ft is the "recommended minimum safe distance"..
