Blue, I own a Lowe Stinger 190, and absolutely love the rig. In my opinion I did not like the 170 because it seemed too narrow to me. The 190 is very wide and very stable. I also like having the 90 Merc. Not a speed demon by any means and top speed is around 46 at 5500 rpm's. Very good riding boat and a breeze to fish out of. Tons of storage, and even with the single livewell you can still put the dividers in it. We are mainly catch and release, so it's no big deal to me to only have the one livewell. The ONLY issue I have had was the tach was set wrong but I took it to Cabelas where I bought it and they corrected it in 5 minutes. Easier to tow than 'glass and very economical to run. I think you would be very happy with it. Good luck in your search

Thanks again for all the reviews!

DMW1960 - Your reviews and tips are better than I would have expected to recieve form someone. Keep it coming if you have more!!

jackb - I'm debating over the ST195 and ST190 just because of the storage issues. I'm still debating on which way to go....dual livewells vs more storage.

    Keep them coming......

I think the dual livewells/baitwells are great especially for crappie fishing because your partner does not have to come to the front of the boat or you do not have to go to the back to get a minnow every time one is needed. Also, if you do not need the second livewell you could always use it as storage but when you need it as a livewell it is there.

Blair you know the story my friend. Starting out with a very very old 16' V-Bottom with a 9.9 on it and a cheap trolling motor. Dreaming of the day that I could purchase a true Crappie Boat, spending hours looking at catalogs, then after internet looking on line for hours at a time.

I know I have shared my pictures, ideas and what I have done with my boat with Blair. If enough of you guys would like for me to do a Thread on my Lowes Boat I don't mind doing it. I have never been around boats that much. I just know what it takes to catch Crappie and the equipment needed.

Travis, how many PM's? And 9 emails with 45 pictures to boot. I think you know all that Blair and I know now.

I am just going to say one thing more. In Missouri each person fishing out of the boat has to have their own storage for fish. Fish can not be put together. Boat storage is nice but I would rather have 2 livewells split into 2 compartments each. IE wife and I went on a fishing trip to Truman Lake, below the dam. We were both catching keeper crappie, then wife starts pulling up nice 2 to 3 pound catfish on crappie jigs. With each of us having our own livewell with 2 compartments in each we were able to keep the crappie away from the nutty catfish. No damage done to my eatting fish (crappie) dressed and cleaned the catfish for the inlaws.

What you going to do spend all this money on a fishing boat, get all this storage and end up using a fish basket to put your fish in? Thats why I have a Super Cab pickup. We use large plastic bags for rain gear and push the air out. What else do you need in a boat?

DMW1960 I would love to see a post with your boat and the work done. I have seen some previous posts in the past and some great work by people here at Crappie.com Some of you guys do great work and the rest of us admire it. I am not very inclined with stuff like that but would love to maybe have the knowledge to one day attempt a modification if I ever get to where I can afford another boat. I promise I will have one and if you did not mind I would save your pics and maybe use some of your ideas.

Ok heard enough! I will try to put together a thread. Crappieseeker I am not someone who can really work on a boat. Give me a good old IH farm tractor and then you are on. All the stuff that I have done to the boat has either come from Bass Pro or Cabela's. I live in Springfield, MO home of the main store for BP. It got so bad this last year that wife was calling me twice a day to make sure that I wasn't at BP. All the stuff I have done is off the shelf anyone could have done it. I understand the part about affording another boat. I don't care what you do with my pictures or ideas, hang them on the bathroom wall. LoL that is what I want to do with some of the papers on some of my registed Simmental Cows sometimes!

The main thing Crappieseeker is this! We have all purchased stuff for boats and a good percentage has been junk! I have been lucky to study and get the good stuff that works well for me. I don't mind sharing with my fellow brothers and sisters on CDC. Because I have more than ever been paid back many times over since I joined in May of this year. All I ask of anyone that I help out is just return the help to another fellow member. Hope that is not too much to ask.
