Pappy you are right about fishing from the side. They are made to fish from the front, but like someone else said once you are in the seat there is no reason to move around, everything is in arms reach. Also 2 people is about all that you want to fish out of a boat like this.

i had the 1648 girzzly tracker for awhile with stick steer but hated the live well being in the middle and had to get around so ended up selling it and replacing it with a a 754 war eagle stick steer and love it... i put a drop in between the two seats for my 5yo son and still have way more room...once i sit down i never have to move till i get out of the boat because everything is in arm reach...it looks like your legs might be pushed under the seat if you are fishing out of the side in this pic but they are not...you have plenty of room but alot of times if i am tied off and fishing brush piles ill kick my feet up on the side of the boat and relax

That picture that pappie put on makes it look much more comfortable.I just can't sit in any one position all day, though. That was my point. No disrepect for any bodies views at all.I have two prostetic legs so would not be my choice, that's all.

The boat manufacturers are compromising, attempting to add storage vs leg space vs where the live well is located, ect. The smaller the boat the harder to get everything in it you want. This particular boat is as close as I have seen to what I might want sometime in the future. It's all about fitting the boat to you and your preferences. I like my bass tracker for trolling (more space and I can move around it I want to) but I like my partners stick steering boat better for shooting docks (you can get lower to the water and that makes a big difference). Maybe I will get two boats. How will I explain that to my wife. She's not even sure I need one. Keep up the conversation. I like all viewpoints. Some of you may have other boat designs you want to add to make comparisons.

My brother has one. I have bad knees and need to stretch my legs once in a while and sometimes it feels kind of cramped if you are fishing from the sides. Otherwise...nice boat.

I've considered a stick steer too, but have been concerned about how they ride in rough water. What do ya'll know about that?

I haven't fished this boat but the Stick steer boats I have fished in if your driving and it's rough your going to have to go slow or your going to get wet from water splashing over the bow. Great visibility while running but if you fish a lake like Toledo Bend that is loaded with stumps, be sure to always wear the kill switch and your life jacket, because if you hit anything while running you'll be the first thing to the accident and the boat will be following you. Here is a link to some pictures that show the inside lay out better. I think I'd rather have a 754 tiller, because your in the back when running and it has lots more floor space than the stick steer version. I had a 754 LDSV console steer and it doesn't have much floor space or storage. The only storage I had was the livewell, which I pluged, in front of console, and the Gun box. The gun box was just that, too short to put rods in.

Have you climbed in the boat to see how it fits you or have you just looked at them on the internet? Think the only way to see how it would work out would be to get in it. I am 6'2 and would love to have one but want to go get in one and there are no dealers around me. I did talk to a guy with a tracker stick steer last year at the ramp and asking him how he liked it first thing he said was its pretty cramped... he was way shorter than me...

The front of the boat is THE roughest place to ride. ANY chop at all and the bumps are directly delivered to your BUTT! In a 2 ft chop youd havta idle or have back surgery.

    Default Stick Steer Owner

I've had two stick steers. They were great for fishing & maneuvering. The Mon Ark was an extremely rough ride so be prepared to lose a few fillings if you run wide open in rough water. Cold weather running was an exercise in pain too since you're sitting right up front where the wind will slice you apart-- but they were easy to load, easy to dock, and great fishing platforms. I'm using a pontoon for bass fishing now which is, uh, less maneuverable.
