I think you may need to slow down even more...to a mere crawl.....
I only use 3/8 oz. weights and my lines are near verticle in the water....
im not sure if im doing somthing wronge or not, but when i try to spider rig (here in ohio only 2 poles per person so maybe not true spider riging), i have trouble keeping the rig in front of the boat and verticle (or close to verticle), i dont have a T-bar type set up yet, so as of right now i'm using scotty pole holders, one diff i notice between the T-bar type set up and my pole holders is that the T-bar looks like it keeps the reel above the tip of the pole and the tip close to the water, with my pole holders i can somewhat achieve this but no where near the angle i see others with the T type setup. i usally use anywhere between 1/4 up to 3/4 weights, is this enough? also im usally going about .8 mph at the slowest, i did buy a drift sock thinking i may need to slow down some but havent made it out to try it yet. I have tried several rigs and even the pre-tied two hook crappie rigs from the local wally world and have the same problem with em all. although last time i was giving it a shot i did manage a double on the two hook rig, though i had a hawg, turned out it was two 11 inchers, but this happend as i let of the troller to let the rig catch back up, still pretty cool experience, none the less any help would be awesome, thanks all and God bless

you can also use lighter weight with a slip cork and minnows and wind drift
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
Yep, you need to slow down, keep your lines vertical.
I'm with the rest---slow down. I never get over .5 and most the time around .2. If you are keeping your trolling motor on all the time that is the problem. You need to just tap the motor enough to keep your boat moving SLOWLY.

I have found that "pulsing" the troller AND GOING SLOW work best for me. I get a lot of hits just after pulsing the troller. Everyone is right about going slow.

Dont think that having your lines vertical is all that important, trolling is the only way a lot of folks fish around here, some go slow and some go fast, i use a 2oz. wt and like my lines to be about2-3 in past vertical.

I can only manage 4 poles at a time. I use 3/8 oz weights. "Bump" the trolling motor to go slow as possible. My boat catches the wind which makes it difficult to go into the wind. I catch myself going too fast trying to correct my angle. I am in a stick steer and have my rods in individual holders. To acheive the angle I wanted, I used a vise to bend the studs on the holders.
