Here's my set up. 07 Duramax pulling a 07 Tahoe Toyhauler and my Ranger 1860 behind it. Why buy toys if you can't take them with you...:D

No problems towing my rig. Very stable and easy to drive. Just need to pay special attention to the rigs momentum going uphill & especially downhill here in the mountains of Arizona. My Duramax with the allision transmission makes the job easy. Had a certified welder that specializes in hitches redo the frame on the toyhauler for boat hitch. Do not cut corners here!

Here in AZ the max length is 65'. Have been told that does not include your motor's lower unit/prop. It's front bumper to rear bumper. Like others have said, laws are different from state to state.

Here's a link with pics of others that have the same setup. Chandler Bass Club.....Rollin in Style!!! - AZBZ Forums

I have double towed only a short distance no more then 50 miles at the most and only on two lane roads .that with a dodge ¾ ton 31foot travel trailer and a 19foot boat trailer behind the travel trailer that total about a 70feet rig . but I would not try it on long trips so what I thinking about building ramps for the bed of the truck mounting a winch on the headack rack to load and unload the boat and trailer off the truck. The boat is a 15’x60” john boat so the boat is not that heavy . Im going to start welding up the ramps next week will post pictures of it when I get it built .john

Nice rigs. I think I am scr&*( by living in FL. I have the option of moving my residence (main) to KY or IN. Going to the state police post monday and see what they say.

Thanks for sharing. I am sure that I am not the only one to envy you guys. Have safe trips and catch a bunch of crappie.

Chuck, When you talk to the state police, find out if it's legal to tow a double in Florida if the vehicles are registered in another state? I'm pretty sure you have to conform to the laws of the state you are towing in.
I'd really like to get some definate answers on pulling doubles. From the one site I posted, it shows it to be illegal in every Atlantic coast state except Maryland. I'd like to know what that law is based on. Is it based on the operators driving license, or the vehicles ability to track and stop in the towing situation. As I said before, I have a CDL license and have the endorsement for pulling doubles and triples. A 5th wheel towing a boat would be a sweet combination. Might need on of those back up cameras to hook your boat up to the 5th wheel, especially by yourself.

The posted shortcut http://www.towingworld.com/articles/TowingLaws.htm Shows in the last column - receprocity. Does that mean a person for LA can triple tow his unit thru FL. I hope to find that answer Monday. Will post.

I am going to post on FL the question to see if anyone has addressed this situation. Most answers are from other states.

The rearview camera for me is a must. Unless you have great confidence in all your rigging, etc. seeing what's going on behind you is a must. If you look close at the pic of my rig you will see I have one mounted at the top center of my trailer. The camera has 10 infrared LEDs that make night vision possible.
I purchased it through a company in Canada with a trailer cable package that includes 66' of cable for running it through the trailer, a quick connect coil cable for transition from trailer to tow vehicle, and a 20' cable to run through the tow vehicle to your monitor/gps. I have a Pioneer 500 series color gps unit that allows me to easily toggle between the maps and the camera. It was a great tool last spring on our trip from Holland to Reelfoot lake in Tenn.

The reciprocity thing means that aside from having to conform to the laws of the state you are travelling through, your state of residence drivers license endorsement that indicates you have met your states licensing for triple towing should be honored in the state you are travelling through.

One other note that needs mentioning. HAVE ADEQUATE INSURANCE ON YOUR RIG! This is mentioned not only for your protection, but may be another mandatory requirement in other states.

As mentioned before it's always a good idea to get the facts from each state you plan to travel through to make sure your information is accurate.

    Couple of great rigs.
Yankee doodler pretty much has my ideal setup. Chevy with the duramax/allison combo, 5th wheel with slide outs, and a decent boat in tow.

    Yankee Doodler:

I have been planning on installing a rear view camera on my rig. Can you give me the manufactures name of your rear camera. I'm still in the research stage so looking at all my options.

    Thanks

In all these posts no one has brought up weight concerns. In my line of work I have asked this of drivers that pull doubles every day. The 1st trailer must be heavier than the second. Even with sway control reversing the order could be bad. Just my input.

Skeetbum is absolutely right. Weight of your trailer AND your triple (boat) has to meet state regs. One of the links has footnotes that call out the tow vehicle to trailer weight ratios.

In all the years that I have been triple hauling I have not been stopped, but you best have your ducks in a row if/when you do.

    Larry:

Here's the link to the Winsted Group where I got my camera and cable kit. The cable kit was PR-QD1C-66F and the camera is PR-641CL. You can get it in white, but you'll have to ask as I didn't see a part # listed. You will have to pay import tax, so if you decide to get the stuff order it all at once to avoid paying it twice.

I purchased my Pioneer GPS from E-Bay and got it for $234. They were retailing for $600 at Circuit City and a local place, so I thought I got a good deal. They may be less now, or there may be newer ones. It has a 5x3" screen and my old eyes have no problem seeing stuff on it. It has a lot of bells and whistles, including Bluetooth. I have the Bluetooth enabled for hands free calling, but seldom use it.

Here's some pics of the setup I have.
