    Default Buckets are the trick......

My dad and I put some buckets out in our favorite watershed lake on Sunday. Too bad I won't be fishing them, since I'll be 650 miles away soon. I'll post some pics later tonight maybe. The wife and I are going out to garrett lake to try some night fishing, hopefully post some pics of tonights catch also.

I saw how Richard did these buckets. Now that I know where to get the gravel, all I need is some buckets and a crew to fill the buckets with gravel and put them out. lol...It is hard work...Just goes to show ya that u never too old to learn something and there ain't no such thing as an EXPERT.
Cane Pole, you need to hook up with my Dad. He's got the hook up on some buckets and I'm sure he'd help you place some. He'll need somebody to do that sort of stuff with anyway once I'm moved.

Default Pics of the buckets we put out.....

Dad and I put these out in our favorite watershed lake last Sunday. I can't wait to come back down to Tennessee and catch some slabs off of them. Some of the buckets we stuck sticks in or bamboo. We put out about 40 that day and plan on doing more soon. Dad sure was happy about the buckets, he's pumped, you can see this in the picture of him cheese'n lol .

Does anyone have some good tips on where to locate structure. I am new to crappie fishing and trying to establish some places to fish. Building stake beds, buckets etc. is the easy part deciding where to put it is what holding me up. I know if you put anything easy to read on drop it will be fished to death on Barkley lake. Do you guys put out structure at various depths depending the on time of year your fishing.

    Hey,
I am new to putting fish attractors out, but I do know that if you wait on the perfect place to put it, it will be sitting in your yard a while. You want some cover in deep water for winter and summer months (20' to 30') and you want some in shallow water/flats for spring and fall (8' to 12'). Drop offs are a nice place to put them as well and it doesn't have to be a sharp drop off either. The North shore is a good place for the spring time. Remember to put make different places so that you can get out of the wind no matter which way it blows. Other folks on this board proprobly have some better info, but I have been putting them out in different places and I hope they pay off. The plastic takes longer to hold fish where the bamboo will hold fish almost instantly. Good luck!

jfraley just about said it all. If you put attractors where he said you cant go wrong.
i have put stuff where he suggested for the last few years, but just started putting
plastic on long points. I noticed bass and crappie fisherman working the points before
and they are also close to creek channels. I'll fish them later this fall and am anxious
to see how they do. Also richards bucket idea works really well, on points and other structure.
