Guys I need your thoughts on these.
My idea when bottom bouncing. Tie one of these on with a loop knot about 18 inches long. Leave a 2 foot end and tie your 1/2oz weight on . Hook a minnow onto the bug and start bumping the ledges of the river channel. The bug will free float with the minnow attached. Thinking #2 and #4 hooks.
Actually I think it is a great idea for bumping the bottom

I have been using floating jig on crappie rig with great success. You need to use a little stiffer line, or the will tangle on the main line.
I dig it, Doc!
"Mister, I love the way you wear that hat."
"You don't know nothin'."
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

LD, down here in our hot waters I've been catching fish about a foot off the bottom in 16' of water. Those floating jigs tipped with minnows might just be the ticket right now.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Those will for sure work on one of my lakes, fish hold steady just off the bottom (30' or so) in late summer and fall. Drop shot would work good... rocky bottom and would much rather loose some weights than jigs.
River boys would love those for walleye during spring spawn as well!
