    Default Bundick's 01/02/09

I finally got a day off with decent weather so I took advantage of it, got to the lake between 7:30 and 8:00 and fished til 5:30. I fished mainly the east bank near the flood gate, caught a few drifting, but 90% were caught trolling. The main 2 colors they were hitting were red/chartruese with either orange or pink heads and pumpkin/chartruese pepper with orange heads... Water temp was 57 fished 11-16 ft deep in 13-25 fow.
Ended up keeping a limit (haven't been able to do that since Rita messed up Laccassine reserve) from 9 inches and up and threw back around 40. Even managed to get a couple of doubles... biggest two were 1.12 and 1.10

Here is one of the doubles. (hard to get a pic with the wind blowing and 3 other lines in the water with 4 jigs on each and a lake full of snags)

here's a shot of them dumped out the box

and a box shot of them

another thing, I meant to do this post awhile back.... here are two pictures of a tree very near one of the deep holes in bundick's where I am normally able to catch some nice fish.. first one is one I took back in april of 07, and the second one if from back in November... Question is, What do you think happened to it? Struck by lightning or maybe someone hung a lantern on it and caught it on fire?

Nice catch, I've never have caught that many anywhere, my personal best was 33 one day. The tree, I'm not sure. I've seen trees struck by lighting, mostly pinetrees, usually rips the bark off. If the tree is completely dead, probaly would burn easy from lighting or lantern.

Man Johnny, I didn't think a limit was possible at Bundicks! Nice cath indeed!:D One of these days I will have to follow you over there. Thanks for the pictures. As for the tree, I have almost caught one on fire with a lantern before so maybeeeeeee.

Default Made another trip to Bundick's today 01-04-09

Met up with sacalait slayer (Tony) and his fishing partner Shelton on the lake this morning, they had a few already when I got there. The rain was supposed to hold off til after 2 but we got hammered with it for a little while early... The bite was off and on all day, I had better luck in the deeper water and Tony and them seemed to have better luck shallower. I ended the day with 48, with the biggest 3 weighing 1.12,1.8, and 1.6.. I didn't get any pics while out on the lake, didn't want to risk getting the camera wet... Tomorrow when I clean them I will try to get a couple of pics...... Been waiting almost a year to get a limit on that lake, and I almost got 2 in two trips.

Dog gone it Johnny, looks like you're on a roll. Glad to hear it. Can't hardly wait until I can git out there. I'm making good headway on the house repairs and should be able to fish heavily this spring. Still not sure about Larto yet. Son JonEugene and I might make a short trip to visit but I don't know yet about fishing or staying the week end.
