    Default Chicot State Park

I was thinking about going to the park tomorrow. I have never been, don't have a boat. I was thinking about renting a boat, but I don't think they rent motors? I have a trolling motor that I'll take. Just wondering if there's any decent fishing around the south landing?
I'm sure the boats they rent are small flats, will I get run over out there on the weekend? Any info is appreciated!

I don't know if you will get this before you leave or not.
I am not familiar with the lake at all. I have NEVER fished it, but I had a friend of mine tell me this evening that they have been tearing up the sac's over at Chicot. Something about them being in the trees in about 6 ft of water... Best bet is to follow the other boats.

As for the trolling motor, if they rent boats and the boats are not current on registration, I don't think you can put any kind of motor on them. But I may be wrong...... Good luck and let us know how it goes.

    Thanks for the reply!
Not sure about the wind and rain today, but I'm going to take a chance.
I was looking at a map and it looks like there's a bunch of trees or stumps, so I don't think I'll encounter anyone shooting pass wide open.
I'll let ya know how things go later...wish me luck!

Caught some gills, that's about it.
There were garfish all around. Didn't really look like anyone was catching. Many people left when it started raining it didn't last too long though. The park looks like a good place to fish.

6 ft of water in the trees must have been a joke. All the water I found was six feet! And there were thousands of trees. Maybe again around April?

That's funny...lol.... Like I said I have never been there, just going off of what I was told. Maybe it was near the banks in 6fow. Hate to hear yall weren't able to get on them, maybe still a little early. I know the south end of TB gets good late in April. Thanks for the report.
