Thanks for your post JF, I agree. Much like deer feeders and game cameras. Kaboom they say.
I have struggled learning how to catch crappie. I finally pulled the trigger and got livescope. After a few trips I figured it out. Last weekend I found ALOT of fish stacked on one brush pile. After finding them I was bringing one in every cast. However, during the experience I had a some very unexpected feelings. First off I got bored. Second, I did not have any sense of pride or accomplishment for a very good fishing day. It was too easy. As a matter of fact it was ridiculous. I am not sure yet what my final opinion will be but wanted to share.
I WILL NOT be responding to anyone else’s comments as I am sure this topic could turn ugly quickly.
P.S. I believe it is an ABSOLUTE abomination for “professional” fisherman to use FFS in a tournament.
Not Sure Where To Go From Here,
JF

FFS has changed the industry no doubt.
I am in agreement. It would seem to take some of the magic away from the experience of fishing

I've never been bored catching fish
I love the nuance of watching fish react to baits, I love the chase.
I also find myself having to unlearn things I thought I knew about fish behavior.

I am of the opinion of it should not be used in tournaments. I would use it if I had it as fishing every 30 days it is difficult to stay on fish. But I am lazy and love to catch not just happy with fishing lol.

I have always thought that I can catch fish without it so I hadnt pulled the trigger to buy FFS........yet. I dont need to always catch ALOT of fish when fishing but I always try to cause I LOVE catching too. I just keep enough for my family when I have those good days.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
For me, it's the best thing to ever happen. Before, I put my rods up at the end of May. Now, I actually enjoy Summer fishing.
I can see both sides. I agree it should NOT be allowed in tournaments. I don't really care for it because to me, you are mostly just playing a video game now and you don't get to see the squirrel run up the tree, the deer run through the woods, etc. all of that is part of fishing to me. But with that being said, I won't say I will NEVER have one, but I will tell you that they will have to come way down on the price before I get one.
