Default What If I Fell Out Of The Boat

I was watching “Seekers of Men” fishing on D’Arbonne this morning, and it reminded me of a time in early spring when I fell out of the boat. It was a cold windy February morning on the Red River. I was bass fishing in a stump field, and catching some nice fish. The wind blew the front of the boat around and the boat hit a hidden stump. In an instant I was in the cold water! Too high to climb over the side. I swam around to the back of the boat, and with great difficulty, managed to climb up on the big motor and get back in the boat. I had my Goretex duck hunting coveralls and jacket on, so I wasn’t too wet or too cold. Motored back to the marina to dry out.
I told myfarmer friend about how hard it was to climb over the motor. He said “well you have an elevator. You know “!
All you had to do was push the tilt button on the motor and it would dump your fat self into the boat!!”
it’s always nice to get friendly advice from friends! It was great advice! Just thought I would share it. Hope you never need to use it!!

It could make for a very life threatening situation if it was during very cold temps!
I have a ladder but I can barely climb a ladder without being wet because of joint issues
sure hope I never have to find out how hard it is to get back in! It wouldn’t hurt for a guy to have xtra set of dry clothes
in the Boat! Will keep the trim in my but it would have to do some serious lifting to raise my fat but up enough to get back in!
    Too blessed to be stressed!

It only has to raise you once. That’s all that matters.
