Default Dodging the Rain at Louie

Tried Louie today. Got off to a slow start. I tried too many deeper places. Only caught a couple. Various hand tied jigs.
Dodged one storm by sitting under a bridge.

I had thought it was too early for the fish to be on the bank. Wrong!! Finally tried a black and chartreuse hair jig about a foot from shore. Bam!!
I caught 4 more, and another storm got me. No bridge this time.
Ended up with 7 fish. And a good lesson!
Water is up to usual level for spring. Landing at Rocks has had some work, but I don’t know exactly what was done. I think I see a piece of concrete reinforcing rod sticking out of the water on the right when facing the water.
Looking forward to the next trip!

Good job!! Louie looks like chocolate milk in the background, perfect this time of year. Finally got my lower unit on this week. I've been out of commission since last week of October and I'm having withdrawals from no thumpage. All I have to do now is finish my two bathrooms that had the floors and walls ruined from a leak. Can't get plumbers to show when they are suppose to and wife decided to change from tub to shower. Never an idle moment. One day I'm gonna get to go, hopefully before the spawn is over haha.

Post front is underrated!! I went back this afternoon, got one bite, missed it and that’s it! Water was up almost two feet and a bit muddier than before. Still, nothing broke, everything worked, and probably a $10-15 trip from my house.
