Thanks for sharing with us.
We had 2.5 inches of rain last week, so I figured Louie might be up enough to launch my boat. Got to the Rocks and it was still too low to launch on the ramp. There was a man launching his aluminum from the bank. I watched him and talked to him. He lives near the landing and I had talked to him before. He showed me a place that I could launch. It worked great!! I had timed my trip perfectly to coincide with the end of the passing of a cold front, so I wasn’t expecting much. He went one way, so I went the other. If he was nice enough to help me I certainly didn’t want to interfere with his fishing.
Tried some sunken trees in 8-10 fow. Saw a few fish on ‘scope, but they were interested. Found one willingly fish, but the rest wouldn’t bite. Moved down the bayou but the gusty wind made boat control difficult. Moved a couple more times and found a few offshore on a tree top. Tried a couple more with no success and went back to the original spot. Caught 3 more to make 5 crappie.
Headed back to the landing and had an uneventful loading of the boat. Ended up with 5 , 2 nice sized ones and 3 smaller
ones. Started with silver jig, but red and chartreuse seemed to work better. Nice day on the water.
