    Default Poverty Point 10/4

Caught a few catfish, but couldn’t find the crappie. Tried fishing north end and deep coves on southeast section.

Ambient temperature was 78 when i put in, 89 when i left, and water temperature stayed around 79. Wind was a little tough until about 1, then just stopped but brought a fee small showers.

Haven’t heard much for a while. Will pick up when water cools a bit. Winter- early spring best as a rule

Poverty Point has always been rough for me, I’m determined to figure out one day.

When you figure it out it seems the fish totally change the next year. Only east cuts and marina stay the same year to year

I’m starting to feel that way. I’ve been slowly mapping it on each trip. I may try pulling cranks or longlining it next year.

Winter in the cuts is the only time I’ve ever had any success there.
