    Default Ouachita River at Harrisonburg

Finally got a day off! (I thought I was retired). Went to Bayou Louie Rocks, but the water was so low that I couldn’t see a way to launch without breaking something. So I decided to try the Ouachita River at Harrisonburg. Searched the west side of the river, and finally asked a young man. Launch is on the east side! Second left after the bridge. Federal ramp. Pretty nice! Being it’s on a river, it is long and steep! Not as bad as most river ramps.

Headed upstream and fished a tree top. Saw a large long fish and put a silver and black jig just above it. Chomp!! Serious battle on a crappie rod! Good looking catfish. He looked like supper! Fished a lot of sunken trees and one shallow lake. No crappie!! Landed two more catfish and broke off a couple more.

My motor started right up every time!!
Skinned the catfish and fried it with Louisiana Fish Fry. Awesomeness!!Name: IMG_1492.jpg
