Default Finally fixed my motor!! (fingers crossed!)

Went to Old River Vidalia two days ago. I have been working on my old 1999 Evinrude Ficht 115 for years trying to fix an intermittent starter problem. Ordered a starter pinion and Bendix from Crowley Marine. Got it in and there was a starter pinion, different Bendix, a plastic cover, and a couple washers. Cost about twice what I ordered. Looked at the included instructions, and I could see that this was a corrected part that was different from the original. It came with installation instructions. When I removed the old cover I could see that the recess that the upper pinion bearing rode in was broken. The new one was reinforced and came with an extra stainless steel washer. There was also a larger Bendix, and a stainless steel washer for the bottom.
It was quite a job replacing all this, I took several pictures with my phone to make sure I got everything in the right place.
When I got it all back together, it cranked right up like it hasn’t done in years!!
Took it out to Old River in Vidalia and it worked perfectly!! Caught a lot of gar on jigs, but no crappie. Not a problem!!

Wrote a nice thank you text to Crowley Marine for sending me what I needed!!

Sorry you didn't catch any crappie but your boat was running well. Did you put in at JJs or public launch. Both are extremely low

J J’s. It wasn’t bad at all. There is a lot of exposed structure, mostly trees, that are visible. I waypointed quite a few of them. I need to fish Concordia more, but I can’t get excited about it. Got a hankering to go to Toledo Bend or Lake O the Pines.
But mostly I am just thankful that my motor is working!!
