    Default Murphy’s Law at Louie

Decided to go to Louie yesterday. Got to the Rocks and there was barely one place to park! Turns out there was a bass tournament. Tried a few of my usual spots. That produced two tiny crappie and two small gar. Went upstream and tried the main lake, which has some 30 foot plus water in it.
Started catch some small crappie drifting a silver jig with a nibble. Kept 5 that I normally would release for supper. Tried one more spot north of Bill’s. Nothing! Tried to crank the old Evinrude, and all I got was the”rude” part. Starter wouldn’t engage! Thought I had some jumper cables, but couldn’t find them.
So, I put the trolling motor on about 2 of 6 and headed back. Naturally there was a head wind.
It took a while, but I made it back on the MinnKota!!
I have had it about a year. 36 volt Riptide Force. It is brushless, so at lower speeds it “recycles” the electricity.
Got back to the landing just in time for the bass tournament weigh in. One of the bass guys helped me load the boat. Just to see, I turned the key, and it started! I’m getting a new starter anyway!!

Even though we report about rudeness on the water the number of people willing to help far outnumber the rude ones.

    Maybe a bit too interesting!!
Trying to diagnose if I have a parasitic drain. Getting dragged kicking and screaming into a marine electronics education!!
I got an electric meter that measures DC amps. A small amount of amps drawn with everything “off”!!
