Haven’t posted in a while. Just got a new garmin 93sv with panoptics and took the kayak out on the Tchefuncte today. Knew the winds out of the north would be bad, but I really wanted to just dial in the livescope. Took a little while to get it down and then started zeroing in on submerged trees. At first I was fishing shallow thinking they may be still spawning with water temps in the mid 60’s, but they weren’t at least where I was. Found fish in water between 10 and 25’. Caught probably 8 small ones I threw back and kept 4 for dinner. Black and chartreuse was the ticket, but most didn’t react much to the jig. I tried bouncing it when they followed. Dead sticked it or slowly raised the bait. I must say it was a hoot watching them on livescope. Even saw a very large concentration of them under a dock, but they were deep in the back and impossible to reach. Still beats going to work. Tight lines
