Looking to bring my father down to do some crappie fishing this coming spring. Wanting to give D’Arbonne a try. Any recommendations as to where to stay in close proximity to the lake. Also local places to eat would be great! Thanks for any help

The Lake Darbonne State Park is really nice. If you just need a place to sleep and take a shower, Lake Darbonne motel is a lot cheaper (but not as nice) as the state park. I have stayed at both and like both places, it really depends on how nice of a place you are looking for.

I’ve been wanting to stay at Darbonne Point. I have stayed at the state park cabins and really enjoyed them. I probably wouldn’t stay at the hotel with my family, mostly because they’d complain about it. Lol. I’ve never felt comfortable leaving anything of value unprotected in hotel parking lots, so I’ve never stayed at any hotel with my boat. Just personal preference, I realize a lot do with no issues. By far my favorite thing is to rent a house on Darbonne, but the fees really add up if the duration is short.

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.
