Flat Lake in the basin
Folks, for years i have fished on the south end of the basin. I have ran many times through flat lake. I have heard about the pilings in the lake but luckily i have not "found" them. I would really like to get a feel for where they are and how to safely navigate the lake. I always launch at russos so i enter the lake from the southeast end. I know where the two pilings are that stick out of the water and i tend to stay well west of that area traveling up to dog island pass.

I used to fish Flat Lake when I lived in Morgan City. Moved from there in 1989. At that time the pilings were visible at low tide. I launched from the west side of Hwy 70 near the clarion tower and usually went up Bear Bayou. If I remember correctly the pilings ran NNE to SSW starting from the north side about one quarter to one half mile east of the mouth of Bear Bayou.

If you go to Navionics website and click on chart viewer, zoom in on flat lake on the map, the locations of some of the pilings are on there.
