Ricky every time I think of JB it reminds me of the time I brought my wife to his shop to get her a jig pole. Prefers Shiner and I had taken a class with JB at LSU some years back. When the wife saw me using his technique she wanted a long pole too. Up to that time we were using short poles and had no idea about using long poles. Anyway, like I said I brought Linda to JB's shop to get a pole. Well you didn't just buy a pole from JB, you got the lessons on how to use it also. He set up the rod with reel, line and a jig, and the first thing he did was to grab a pair of cuttings pliers and snip the handle off the reel. Next he begin to demonstrate how to use the rod according to JB. After explaining to Linda the proper way to use the pole he handed it to her. That's where the fun begin. The more she tried the more frustrated he got and the more frustrated he got the more frustrated she got. Of course I was laughing my butt off at them two and had his whole shop laughing with me which didn't help matters. Finally he gave up and told me it was up to me to show her. So we packed up her new rod, reel, a few jigs with some plastic tubes on them, some super glue to glue the plastic to the jig, and a drying rack make of wood to hang the baits on while the glue was drying. I got to give it to JB, he did a thorough job or at least he tried to. Just to pick at Linda every now and then I ask her if she wants to go buy a new rod from JB. The thoughts running through her head are not allowed on this site. lol
