I never use anything heavier than 1/16, and that's only for jigging brush piles over 15'. My casting and under cork are a mix of lighter weights.
Is it conditions that dictate jig head weight or just a fishermans preference? During the spawn I'll use 1/8 oz in thick cover but usually use 1/16 oz most of the time. When is the time for 1/32oz?

I have found on very pressured fish and 1/32 works pretty well. I use a larger body to get a slower fall. I believe it puts the bait in the strike zone longer. Unless I am trolling I use a 1/32 ounce jighead

What are hair jigs usually tied with? 1/32? That's what I'm usually using in 10' or less.
I really never use anything but 1/16th. I have others but find the 1/16th works in all my fishing situations.
