    Default Windy Day at Larto

Went to Bud’s yesterday. Fished around the island, but too much wind. Bounced over to Youngblood’s and caught a small one and a barfish where we fished at winter get together. Tried everything I could think of, with no luck. Went through the cut into Saline area and fished around Dry Larto Island. Caught a chinquapin on a shiner!

Sounds like a tough day of fishing. Still better than being stuck at work

It was nice to see water that wasn’t muddy. Saw 2 guys that had a third guy in a boat drop them off to wade fish around the island.
    Echomap 93 still impresses me.

What unit do you have? Mine is on my trolling motor with the older transducer. Maybe better for shallow water. The cone angle as far as I can tell is be like 3 to 10 feet in 6 to 20 fow. I saw some fish that were large maybe half as long as that stump was wide. Probably buffalo or catfish. Basic settings brightness up a bit (you can see the clutter in the water). Some interference when I run the trolling motor. Less on 455 than 1k.

Better shallow water picture than my Helix 9G2.

I plan to put a crappie on a drop shot and see what it looks like on down vue. That didn’t work very well when I tried it with my bird. Gotta catch a decent sized crappie first. Maybe next week.

    Good luck!!
