    Default Zwolle Area/Cove??

Not sure what the cove or creek that goes into or towards Zwolle is called, but...

Never fished TB before, and the wife and I are thinking about comming down the week after Christmass. Thinking about staying at Wildwood Resort in a cabin. Will we be able to access good crappie fishing from there? From Wildwood and up the drainage? Without a long boatride??

And if we're using Livescope/SI/DI, should we easily be able to locate some slabs??

    Thanks,

Sounds like you mean San Miguel (Sammy Gill). The one south of that is Lanan. Often this time of year the best fishing is in the river channel on the Texas side. (Chicken Coops). But this year we haven’t really had a winter yet. So crappie may be in creeks. Last year we fished with Living the Dream Guide Service in December iirc. We caught some crappie in 17 to 21 fow around sunken trees. There are some docks in Lanan that I hear are good. Have fun and be careful. The Bend can get ugly really quickly!

Eat a few tamales while there and I second the lake getting dangerous. Had a scary night once when I put in at Lankan and motored up into San Miguel to night fish for crappie. When I decided to run back in waves were rolling. Water was allow and I ran by a stump at water level. Puckered me up and I shut down to check my undies.waves were breaking over the bow. Decided to run into first cove to left and when I got in a bit it calmed down. Told Teresa were spending as long as it took to lay. Better than swamping.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
