Hey, Chris......I've been keeping up with your posts, and I must say it doesn't appear that you have been suffering from lack of crappie action. I'm proud to see that you have been educating our Northern neighbors on the finer techniques of Southern sacalait fishing (not that they all need it; most of us in LA could profit from your speck knowledge also!) In fact, my partner and I got skunked yesterday on Lake Claiborne. (see my last post under thread "slow but fun.") I haven't seen that pattern but a few times, and we exhausted every technique we knew. Not even a nibble, but it was a beautiful day.

Thanks for checking in with us, and you're wecome to post with us anytime you want. Keep up the good work, we will be watching for your input. :D

Hey! Weather was great today, felt nice to be out on the water with a breeze
blowing my bobber around and see it sinking every cast I made. I must have caught 2 limits and the best part about it I woke up right before having to clean them.LOL

I can relate, Steve. My best fishing this year has been in my dreams. Only drawback is we don't get to enjoy the table fare! I'm about ready to get Deacon up here with his speargun and scuba gear........ :D LOL
(Disclaimer to Wildlife & Fisheries.) Only a joke, guys!

Talking A Fishin' I Will Go

I got a good report from a reliable source that many slabs are being
caught in an area I know all to well. Its in the basin near Morgan City
but with the water level so low its very hard to get to this spot .
I will post again after I return Friday.

Hey Jnt I am Deacon's brother I'm so glad to have a fishing buddie who lives
where you do I love fishing down there especially Doiron's landing in the
winter and grassylake in the spring.Keep us posted on the bites down there
I know a spot in the back of grassy lake in some dead end canals while
fishing for bass with spinner baits we caught 43 slabs. I'm sure you must have some stories to tell and I'd love to hear them.

    Default New to forum

I live in Lafayette and am new to this forum. I was sufing and found it. I work 28 and 28 overseas for Halliburton so I have a lot of time when i am home to fish for sac-a-lait. The only problem is I am always going by myself and don't know the basin very well. I have fished it all my life but tend to only fish the areas I knew(Gravenberge area and Beau bayou area). The fishing is great as long as you can get to these spots. When the water drops, my fishing is over. Any suggestions?
