Thanks JR, I remember JB giving some of those to Linda.

May be not getting it on the reel twist free. The difference in diameter between the reel spool and the spool that the line comes on can induce a twist as you put it on. Only ways I can think of getting it on spool without twist are rolling it from the original spool to one the same diameter as the reel spool and dragging the line in the water behind the boat with nothing on the end.

I like what this guy says about reeling on slack line. I am so guilty of this.

Pay out the line (with all terminal tackle removed) behind a slow moving boat in open water will remove any twist in your line.
I've started using a small swivel when I long line and have had zero line twist since, Not sure if a swivel between the cork and jig would help but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing
