Thanks for the update. Hope all goes well with ur health.
Based on the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries recommendation, the St. Martin Parish Government has scheduled a draw-down for Henderson Lake in St. Martin Parish to manage aquatic vegetation.
The southern control structure gates will open on Monday, August 2. The lake will de-water at a rate of 2 to 4 inches per day until it reaches 3 feet below pool stage. The de-watering rate could be impacted by local rainfall in the surrounding watershed. The draw-down gates are scheduled to be closed on November 1, at which time the lake will be allowed to refill.
Pool stage is 9' NAVD at the pontoon bridge gauge. When this draw-down occurs fishing usually improves along the southeastern levee canal to the pontoon bridge and along the Butte LaRose canal.
If the good Lord is willing I intend to go. I have been grounded for three years due to a ruptured appendix, slipped disk and Covid19. I hope the motor starts.
