I moved to Stephensville in 2016. I have pretty much fished the area exclusively since then. 4.5 years and about a thousand fish later I finally broke the 2 lb mark. Caught her off the Union field fishing 6" deep in about 3' water. I've been picking up a few fish all over the area the last couple weeks. No big days - a dozen or so a morning with the best day @ 20. But the quality has been great. I haven't really been able to nail the fish down though. I may go an hour without a bite, then catch 5-6 in a matter of minutes. They are definitely holding close to big submerged stumps. Good old black/chartreuse has been best. Depth anywheres from 6"-3' deep in 3-5 FOW. One more thing - all my fish are coming out of stained or dirty water. Tried the black water in the back of Union/Sherman and nada. I know most guys are looking for the black water but it hasn't done much for me.

She's at the taxidermist now. I know she's not truly a trophy class fish, but she's big for me and will look good in the house. So now that I've got the 2lber out of the way, the bar has been raised to 3lbs. I wonder how long that will take???
