    Default Cleaning Crappie

Hi Folks!! I just moved very close to both Cypress lake and Black Bayou Benton. I previously had a camp at Lake Fork that had a fish cleaning station where I could clean my fish and discard the remains in the lake. I have not found anything like that near me at these lakes. My question is how do you dispose of cleaned fish remains in this area? There are a lot of nice homes along the lake that may not like discarded fish remains to be dumped in the lake. What is acceptable practice for cleaning and disposing of fish remains on these populated lakes?

Down here in south Louisiana we throw them back in the water for the turtles, minnows to eat. Some throw them in woods for the animals and some put them in freezer and put in the garbage can when the trash truck passes. Some buried them in the garden.

I bury mine around my fig trees, blueberry plants and black berry plants. Great fertilizer!
