    Default Brush pile regulations??

    Hey guys,

I am seeing a lot of people talking about brush piles and sinking their own. Ive tried looking around and haven't been able to much as far as whats legal in Louisiana. I mainly fish the Tickfaw river and always talk to people at the launch and everyone ive seen with fish says they are fishing brush piles.

My question basically boils down to what is legal? I have seen plastic buckets and pvc pipes used as well as trees. I would assume that tree tops with some form of weight would be best for the environment. could one of you more experienced guys point me in the right direction to set up a few of my own brush piles?

No regulations that I've ever heard of. There's a thread under fishing forum on crappie structure. You've got hours of reading there.

If u do sink some. PM me the location.

Thanks for the response. I’ve fished all my life but just recently acquired a boat so I’m still learning. Caught 2 sacalait today on the tickfaw until the wind kicked up to bad.

Different lakes may be different but I don't know of any restrictions. I have used pvc and tree tops and they both work. If you use pvc, be sure to rough up the pvc first to help promote the algae growth. I also tie a bottle on the top when I drop it in to help keep it standing upright. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
